Should I take out a student loan that can't be consolidated?

Hi! I'm a college student who had to take out 2 student loans. (I know; I tried to avoid it the best I could, but I really needed it.) well, one is federal loan and the other one is a private. I'm about to take out a small amount for a 2nd private loan, but the company says that they do not consolidate their loans but they are in the process to trying to do that; to keep checking back with them. I was wondering if i should go through with them or just try for another company that does consolidate? what do you think?
