Attracting attention?

I'm a 22 year old chick who identifies as biual, although I am mainly interested in females. I'm not quite femme, but I have long hair, and can dress rather girly at times. I guess to the average onlooker I would appear to be quite straight. It doesnt help matters that I am a single mum of a baby boy and most of my mates are males (although most of them are gay, they don't appear visually gay). I find it rather difficult to attract any female attention, because everyone umes I am straight. Short of cutting my hair, going butch and donning a sign on my chest, how else can attract more attention?
